'The journey of clay pots through time' – a pottery lesson where each pupil makes a bowl
Description
Ugunii Ceramics brings a pottery lesson to the school: pupils follow clay vessels from the first hand-built Neolithic pots through the potter's wheel and glazes to traditional Latvian pottery and modern design, handling samples of clay, stoneware and porcelain. Then each pupil hand-builds a small clay bowl and decorates it with ancient Latvian signs, textures or modern motifs. The bowls are professionally fired and glazed and returned within a month.
