Description
Lietuvos zoologijos sodas is set in Kaunas's Ąžuolynas, one of Europe's largest urban oak groves. Here you can see animals from different parts of the world, including endangered species, as well as Lithuanian fauna and flora; the zoo is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA). Animal presentations take place according to the published schedule, and the indoor exhibits are open until 17:30. From October to April tickets are cheaper, and cheaper still when bought online; Family Card holders get a 30% discount at the ticket office. Feeding the animals is not allowed, and riding bikes, scooters and roller skates in the zoo is prohibited. Allow 2–3 hours for your visit; right next to it, Ąžuolynas Park is good for a walk.
