EnglishYouth Lithuanian folk dance ensemble “Sietuva”
Description
“Sietuva” is a youth Lithuanian folk dance ensemble with its own folk instrument orchestra; it celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2026 and has twice won the “Aukso paukštė” award. The ensemble’s artistic director, Edmundas Žička, has been chosen as artistic director of the Dance Day at the 2028 Song Celebration, so preparations for the celebration lie ahead. In autumn, young people aged 18–30 are invited to join the main dance group; this season a group for children aged 5–7 is also being formed, and there is an alumni group. The youth group rehearses on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the assembly hall.
