EnglishYoung Farmers' Club “Strautiņu mazpulks”
Description
The club “Strautiņu mazpulks” belongs to Mazpulki (the Latvian 4-H movement): each member carries out their own project over the year – growing vegetables or flowers, making crafts or trying out a small business – and joins the others in community work days and environmental clean-ups. Projects are presented at Mazpulki forums in the fall; in summer members can go to the camp “Visu daru es ar prieku!”, and in spring to the sports games “Zaļais starts”. The club is run by the Alūksne Children and Youth Center and is for students in grades 1–12; sessions take place on Mondays and Saturdays on the premises of the preschool in the village of Strautiņi (“Strautiņu PII”). Anyone who wants to join can contact the leader, Sandra Buliņa, or the center.
