EnglishYoung Farmers' Club “Smiltenes mazpulks”
Description
The club “Smiltenes mazpulks” belongs to Mazpulki (the Latvian 4-H movement): each member carries out their own project over the year – growing vegetables or flowers, making crafts or trying out a small business – and joins the others in community work days and environmental clean-ups. Projects are presented at Mazpulki forums in the fall; in summer members can go to the camp “Visu daru es ar prieku!”, and in spring to the sports games “Zaļais starts”. This is a state-funded non-formal education program for students; sessions take place in the Smiltene secondary school building (“Smiltenes vidusskola”) at Dārza iela 17. To take part, contact the school or the leader, Anita Lotiņa.
