Description

The Šilalė District Municipality Cultural Center Wind Orchestra was founded in 1977 at the old Šilalė Cultural Center and has been led by the same conductor, Zigmas Levickis, ever since. The orchestra consists of musicians of various school ages; a girls’ dance group has also joined the ensemble. The orchestra is a regular participant in national and Tauragė region song festivals and events, and a prize winner at the Lithuanian Wind Orchestra Championship. Every year, it accompanies high school seniors from the city and district of Šilalė at their graduation ceremonies and performs at city and harvest festivals.
