The Vilkaviškis Cultural Center’s folk music band “Vingis,” which has been active since 1996, is a frequent participant and finalist in the LTV project “Duokim garo,” It is a regular participant in national song festivals—in 2009 and 2014, the band accompanied dancers during the Ensembles’ Evening at the Song Festivals. The group has performed in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and Denmark, and has released two CDs. The band has been awarded the first category for amateur ensembles, and in 2012 it became a laureate of the “Golden Bird” award. On the director’s initiative, the national band competition “Suvalkietiškas kiemas” has been held since 2014.
