Description

The Šilalė Cultural Center’s folk ensemble “Veringa,” formed in October 2002, currently has 18 members and holds a Category II designation. The ensemble participated in the Song Festivals of 2003, 2007, 2014, and 2018, as well as the international festivals “Ir pajauga žalia leipa” in Kelmė, and “Skamba skamba kankliai” in Vilnius, and appeared on the LRT program “Duokim garo” in 2005 and 2020. In 2022, to mark the ensemble’s 20th anniversary, a songbook of the Šilalė region titled “Augin muni mažą” was published in collaboration with researchers from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. Through its songs, dances, and instrumental music, “Veringa” represents the Šilalė region.
