Description
Formed in 2001, the Švenčionys City Cultural Center Band preserves the folk music traditions of southeastern Lithuania. Its repertoire includes authentic melodies from the Švenčionys region, performed on the accordion, cimbalom, basset horn, and drums. In 2024, the band was awarded Category I status, and the musicians appeared three times on the TV show “Duokim garo!” The band’s leader is Rimantas Ankėnas.
