Formed in 2000, the Vievio Cultural Center’s folk music band “Pylimėlis” has performed about 200 concerts over more than twenty years, featuring folk songs, romances, popular music, and instrumental pieces. In 2002, the band won the “Duokim garo” competition held at Lake Vievis and performed live on LRT; It was then that the band adopted its current name, inspired by the Pylimo Stream flowing through the village of Pylimai. The band is a regular participant in events organized by the Vievis Cultural Center, the Elektrėnai Municipality, and the Trakai and Kaišiadorys districts; The ensemble features mothers and daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters, and married couples performing together. Thanks to projects in 2020–2021, the group acquired authentic folk costumes.
