Description

1979 Founded on the initiative of Jaunius Vyliaus, the “Sūduonia” folk ensemble has, from the very beginning, traveled through the villages of Suvalkija, recording old songs, stories, games, and dances, which it performs in its concert programs. Its repertoire includes songs, dances, and customs associated with various calendar holidays. The ensemble participates in the World Lithuanian Song Festivals and international folklore festivals; it has performed in nearly all regions of Lithuania and in Poland, and organizes the Shrovetide and Midsummer celebrations in Kazlų Rūda. Since 2019, the ensemble has been led by Daina Ciegienė.
