English“Stāķu 18.” Scout and Guide Troop
Description
The “Stāķu 18.” troop is a unit of the Latvian Scout and Guide Central Organization (LSGCO) in Stradi Parish, Gulbene Municipality, and is part of the non-formal education offer of Stāķu pamatskola. At meetings, children and young people learn to tie knots, build a campfire, navigate the terrain and give first aid, and they go on hikes and to camps. At present the troop runs the Scouts and Guides level (ages 12–14). Anyone wishing to join should contact the troop leader or the LSGCO; in time, new members make the promise and receive a uniform and a neckerchief.
