English"Šok’as," a youth contemporary dance troupe

Description
A dance group founded by several girls in 2022 became part of the Vievis Cultural Center in the fall of 2022. Currently, “Šok’as” brings together more than 30 dancers aged 9 to 16 and participates in festivals and competitions in Lithuania and abroad—in Palanga, Ignalina, Druskininkai, Vilnius, Alytus, Kaunas, Pärnu (Estonia), and Białystok (Poland). During classes, students learn the basics of dance and street dance styles, as well as how to feel rhythm and music; The first year is devoted to building physical strength, with a strong emphasis on flexibility, coordination, expressiveness, and creativity. Rehearsals take place in the choreography hall at the Vievis Cultural Center.
