Description

The “Smuokiukā” Children’s Folk Ensemble of the Šilalė District Municipality Cultural Center (awarded Category II status in 2018) – the “little brother” of the “Gers smuoks” children’s and youth folk ensemble, to which many of its members later transfer. The ensemble was founded in 2011 by Irmina Kėblienė and Jolanta Kažukauskienė; since 2018, it has been led by Ilona Raudonienė. The ten-member ensemble’s repertoire includes Lithuanian and Samogitian songs, traditional dances, circle dances, and games. The group actively participates in events at the district, Samogitian, and national levels, and has been a participant in the Song Festivals since 2014.
