English“Rīgas 22.” Scout and Guide Troop
Description
The “Rīgas 22.” troop is a unit of the Latvian Scout and Guide Central Organization (LSGCO) in the Purvciems district, based at Itas Kozakēvičas Rīgas Poļu vidusskola. On the school's website the troop is presented as a chance to camp, do outdoor sports and learn survival skills together with scouts from all over the world. At meetings, children and young people learn to tie knots, build a campfire, navigate the terrain and give first aid, and they go on hikes and to camps. At present the troop runs the younger scouts' level (in Latvian mazskauti and guntiņas, ages 7–11). Anyone wishing to join should contact the troop leader or the LSGCO; in time, new members make the promise and receive a uniform and a neckerchief.
