Description
Founded in 2022, the Skaistkalne pottery group “SKANDA” brings together about 30 members once a week to make clay vessels. The pieces are fired in Skaistkalne’s wood-fired kiln and smoked, which turns them black. The group keeps the traditional potter’s craft alive and welcomes newcomers, who can simply come to a session. It is led by Dace Balckare.
