“Nuog dravės lig dravės” Tree-Beekeeping Route

A 14.5 km walking route along the paths of the old tree beekeepers: from the visitor centre it follows the edge of Marcinkonys and the old road towards Žiūrai, crosses the Grūda bridge and returns past Šaudzyklos hill. Along the way stand 11 old pines with hollowed-out hives and two pines with hives made in 2023; bees still live in some of them. Allow 4–5 hours; the tree-beekeeping tradition of the Varėna region is listed in Lithuania’s inventory of intangible cultural heritage.
