Museum – Rundāle Palace

The 18th-century Baroque palace of the Duke of Courland in Pilsrundāle, about 12 km from Bauska, built to a design by the architect F. B. Rastrelli. Visitors see the restored state rooms, the apartments of the Duke and Duchess and the palace kitchen, and next to the palace the French garden with a rose garden and bosquets. The palace alone usually takes 1.5–2 hours, and with the garden half a day. From April to October you can buy a combined palace and garden ticket; from November to March the price list includes only the palace exhibition. The ticket office is in the stables building, and the last entry to the palace is 30 minutes before closing. Children under 7 get in free, e-tickets bought online are 10% cheaper, and the parking lots are free; strollers are not allowed in the exhibition.
