Description

Turaida Museum Reserve covers almost 58 ha in Gauja National Park, about 5 km from the center of Sigulda. One ticket covers the 13th-century brick Turaida Castle with its main tower and exhibitions, a wooden church from 1750, the memorial site of the Rose of Turaida, the Folk Song Park with its sculptures on Daina Hill, and the manor farm buildings with exhibitions on the Gauja Livs and rural life. The grounds are large and hilly, so allow 2–3 hours and wear comfortable shoes. The museum is open daily all year round; in winter some of the exhibitions are indoors. Tickets are sold only at the ticket office on site, and parking costs €2. Admission is free for preschoolers and €3 for schoolchildren.
