Lessons in folk instruments (birbynė, lamzdelis, skrabalai)

At the Algimantas Raudonikis Art School in Joniškis, children learn to play the birbynė, the lamzdelis, or the skrabaliai in individual lessons, while solfège and group music-making take place in groups. The elementary music education program is designed for children ages 7–12 and lasts four years. Teenagers aged 13 and older and adults can choose an amateur course with one or two lessons per week. Students of traditional instruments play in folk music ensembles and participate in song festivals.
