Kanklės Lessons

In the kanklės class, children learn to play one of the oldest Lithuanian instruments individually, and in kanklės and folk instrument ensembles, they play together with others. Students in grades 1–2 are accepted into the elementary music education program; in the first year, lessons are held once a week, and later twice a week. All first-graders take solfège, and participation in the children’s choir is recommended. For older youth, there is a 2–4-year amateur program, while adults can study in the adult program; instruments can be rented from the school.
