Description

Formed in 2002, the dance group took its name from the tree—the green mountain pine—that is capable of halting the drifting sand of the Curonian Spit. Residents of Neringa join the group as families. “Kalnapušė” actively participates in national and international festivals, song festivals, and television projects, showcasing the dance, costumes, and traditions of the Lithuania Minor region. The group has performed in Germany, Hungary, Latvia, the U.S., Argentina, Austria, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, and at the “EXPO 2012” world’s fair in South Korea. The group has won the “Golden Bird” award, Category I, and first place in the “Pair by Pair” competition.
