Founded in 2001, the “Kadaginis” folk ensemble is one of the main groups at the Rietavas Municipality Cultural Center. The ensemble actively participates in Midsummer’s Day, St. Michael’s Day, national holidays, municipal district days, and the national festival of bands and folklore ensembles “Subatvakaris,” It performs in the districts of Klaipėda, Kelmė, Skuodas, Telšiai, Plungė, Šilalė, and Tauragė, as well as at the Samogitian Days festival held in Vilnius. An important part of its activities is the romance evening “And Those Were the Words…,” one of whose initiators is the ensemble’s director. In 2026, the ensemble will celebrate its 25th anniversary; it has been awarded Category III status through 2024.
