Jaunsardze Unit

Jaunsardze (Latvian Youth Guard) is Latvia's largest military-patriotic education movement for children and young people, coordinated by the Jaunsardze Center. There are 3 youth guard training groups here: Level 1 (grades 4–6), Level 2 (grades 7–8), a special course in unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Sessions take place once a week after school (90 min.): orienteering, first aid, safety and civil protection, drill, sports and team tasks, while hikes, camps and competitions are held on weekends. Children and young people aged 10–21 can join: an application is submitted to the instructor and an agreement is signed (by the parents for minors); participation is free, and the Jaunsardze Center provides the uniform and equipment.
