Inland Waterways Sailing Yacht Skipper Course

The Vilnius Yacht Club offers courses that lead to the Inland Skipper certification—the right to command a sailing yacht up to 24 meters in length on inland waters; No prior qualifications or sailing experience are required; the minimum age is 16. Theory courses (yacht construction and handling, safety and first aid, navigation, CEVNI and COLREG rules) are held at the yacht club’s facilities in Vilnius. Practical yacht handling training is held during the sailing season in Trakai, on Lake Galvė: two students sail a 25-foot yacht with an instructor for 1–2 hours at a time, and a practical exam is administered once the season begins.
