English“Giružė” traditional music band
Description
“Giružė” is a traditional music band of the Raseiniai District Culture Centre, formed in the foresters’ settlement of Norgėlai, where its members still live and play. Six musicians play the fiddle, accordion, bass and drum, joined by an ensemble of nine singers. The repertoire covers folk music from the Raseiniai area and other regions as well as inter-war and post-war romances, foxtrots and tangos; the band holds the second category for amateur ensembles and performs at local community festivals and national folk events.
