Girionys Dendrological Park

Girionys Park is a landscape-style park of about 108 ha on the upper terrace of the Nemunas valley, cut by ravines and small valleys. The first trees were planted in spring 1960 to a design by A. Tauras; today it is one of the largest parks in Lithuania and one of the richest in species, with more than 250 species and forms of trees and shrubs. Many memorial trees honour important events and well-known foresters, and the park is a state-protected natural heritage site.
