EnglishFolk hymn choir for adults
Description
Founded in 1996, the Archcathedral's folk hymn choir keeps alive the old tradition of Catholic folk hymns. The choir sings at Holy Mass on Sundays at 9 a.m. and on Thursdays at 17:30; in Advent it sings the Hours of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Lent the Lenten lamentations (Graudūs verksmai), and it accompanies the Stations of the Cross processions and, at Pentecost, the Verkiai Calvary procession. Many of its singers also sing in Vilnius folklore ensembles. Musical people who love folk hymns are welcome – you can come to a rehearsal or to Holy Mass.
