Held at “Kauno Pilėnų progimnazija” for its own children only.
Description
The Lithuanian folk dance club at Kauno Pilėnų progimnazija is for pupils in grades 2–3. Classes take place in the assembly hall on Tuesdays after lessons and are led by Ingrida Norvydienė. Children learn Lithuanian folk dances and circle dances, dancing in pairs and in a circle, develop their sense of rhythm, and show the dances they have learned at school celebrations – the primary pupils have danced at the Shrovetide (Užgavėnės) and St Casimir’s Fair (Kaziukas) concert. The club is on the school’s list of free after-school (non-formal education) activities.
