Description

Balboa is a compact partner swing dance in a very close hold that originated in California and is danced to fast jazz. At the What a Jazz studio, a beginner group started in September (it's already full); on Thursdays there are groups for those who have danced for a few months and for more advanced dancers, and on several fall Saturdays there are open “Balboa Study Hall” practice sessions. No partner needed; partners rotate. A class lasts 75 min. Beginners should keep an eye out for when the next group opens.
