English“Austėja” Scout Troop
Description
Velžio gimnazija is home to the “Austėja” scout troop (Nevėžis scout group of Lietuvos skautija, the Lithuanian Scout Association), which runs the “SkautAUK” club at the school. The meetings are for students in grades 1–4 and secondary-school grades I–III. At the weekly meetings they learn scouting skills – knots, orienteering, first aid, working in a patrol – and over the year there are hikes, trips and summer camps. To join, fill in the “Tapk skautu” form at skautai.lt or contact the regional leaders; the Lietuvos skautija membership fee is 17 EUR per year.
