Description

Founded in 1973 as part of the Forestry Production Association, the orchestra has been based at the Kazlų Rūda Cultural Center since 1999. The ensemble actively participates in events and festivals: in 2001, at the Marijampolė County dance festival “Kur bėga Šešupė” in Vilkaviškis, the “Sounds of Panevėžys” competition, the “Sūduvos Dūdos” festival of wind orchestras from the Sūduva region, held every two years in Kazlų Rūda, and in 2009—the Song Festival. Since 2012, Rimantas Gelgota has served as the orchestra’s conductor, with Ernestas Petrauskas as concertmaster.
