Description
The Šilutė branch of Lietuvos aklųjų ir silpnaregių sąjunga (Lithuanian Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted) brings together nearly seventy people with visual impairments from the Šilutė district. Members come to free community-based social rehabilitation sessions: they learn to manage independently at home and move around safely, build self-expression, healthy-lifestyle and occupational skills, and receive individual or group emotional support; when needed, the branch arranges an escort and transport. It is also simply a place to talk with others who face similar challenges. Anyone who wants to join should e-mail the branch or drop in at Liepų g. 16 – session times are agreed with the branch.
