Youth folk dance group “Rytas” – Kėdainių “Ryto” progimnazija, Kėdainiai

The school’s folk dance group “Rytas” is for pupils in grades 5–8. It dances in two groups: a mixed youth group and a girls’ group. At rehearsals dancers learn the steps and figures of Lithuanian folk and stage folk dances and how to perform a whole dance, and work on posture, stamina and moving as a couple. The group shows the dances it has prepared at school celebrations and town events. Classes are free and take place in the dance hall; anyone who wants to dance should contact the leader or the school office.
