“Valmieras 4. skautu vienība” Scout and Guide Troop

“Valmieras 4. skautu vienība” is a troop of the Latvian Scout and Guide Central Organization (LSGCO) with Cub Scouts and Brownies (ages 7–11), Scouts and Guides (ages 12–14), and Senior Scouts and Senior Guides (ages 15–17). Scouts and Guides learn useful life skills – knots, first aid, orienteering, fire-building and outdoor living – and they go on hikes, travel to camps and do good deeds. Meetings take place on Saturdays in the 2nd-floor lobby of the school's primary grades building; the troop also runs the “Palu laiks” night hike and the “Baltais vilks” winter camp. To join, contact the troop leader; after getting to know the troop, a new member makes the promise and receives a neckerchief.
