Description

The “Šaltinėlis” folk ensemble of the Grigiškės Cultural Center made its debut in the spring of 2009. Over the course of fifteen years, the group has participated in four Song Festivals—in 2009 “Amžių sutartinė” in 2009, “Čia – mūsų namai” in 2014, “Vardan tos…” in 2018, and “Kad giria žaliuotų” in 2024. Since 2009, the ensemble has participated annually in the international folklore festival “Skamba skamba kankliai,” as well as in events organized by the City of Vilnius and the Grigiškės community. The group consists of middle-aged and older members who play the harmonica, accordion, guitar, lumzdelis, and drum; its repertoire includes folklore and ballads from the Dzūkija region.
