Description
The “Ruoda” Theater at the Rietavas Cultural Center is one of the most prominent amateur theaters in the region. The theater’s origins date back to 1909, when local amateur performers staged Keturakis’ comedy *America in the Bathhouse*. In 1979, the troupe was granted the title of “People’s Theater,” and the tradition of amateur theater in Rietavas spans 70 years. Today, the theater features about 30 actors of various ages, and the troupe is led by Vincas Andriuška; the theater was awarded Category II status until 2024.
