Description

The mixed choir of the Šilalė District Municipality Cultural Center was formed in 2017. The group consists of over 30 people of various ages from the Šilalė region who are passionate about choral music. Its repertoire includes a variety of styles of classical and contemporary choral music, with a particular fondness for Lithuanian folk songs. The choir is actively involved in educational activities: it organizes choir camps, prepares joint concert programs in collaboration with ensembles, soloists, and orchestras from other regions, and stages performances together with dance groups. In 2022, the Lithuanian National Culture Center awarded the choir Category II status. The choir is led by Sandra Rimkutė-Jankuvienė and Žilvinas Jankus.
