Description
The Marcinkonys ethnographic ensemble was founded in 1971 and today has about 20 members who keep the songs, music and customs of the region alive. The group performs at local festivities, folklore festivals and Song Festivals and runs educational programmes for tourists; in 2001 it won the “Golden Bird” award as Lithuania’s best village folklore ensemble. It is led by Rimutė Avižinienė.
