Jaunsardze Unit

Jaunsardze (Latvian Youth Guard) is Latvia's largest military-patriotic education movement for children and young people, coordinated by the Jaunsardze Center. There are 5 youth guard training groups here: Level 1 (grades 4–6), Level 4 (grades 10–12), a special course. Sessions take place once a week after school (90 min.): orienteering, first aid, safety and civil protection, drill, sports and team tasks, while hikes, camps and competitions are held on weekends. Children and young people aged 10–21 are accepted with written parental consent: an application form and a participation agreement are filled in; training is free, and every youth guard receives a uniform.
