Description
The folklore ensemble “Žiogeliai” runs at Kauno “Varpelio” pradinė mokykla and welcomes primary pupils who enjoy folk songs, games and circle dances. Sessions take place in the assembly hall on Thursdays after lessons and are led by E. Aksamitauskienė. Children sing Lithuanian folk songs, play traditional games, dance circle dances and learn the customs of the calendar festivals, then show the programme they have prepared at school celebrations. The ensemble is one of the school's free after-school (non-formal education) clubs.
