Alpine Sit-Skiing for People with Disabilities
Description
The society “Sports ikvienam” organizes free alpine skiing lessons for children and adults with functional impairments, as well as for people who use a wheelchair – on special sit-skis. Lessons are taught by an experienced instructor who has been trained to work with people with disabilities and holds a sit-ski instructor certificate; some students already ski on their own and take part in competitions. Sessions take place in winter on the Žagarkalns slopes in Cēsis, usually on weekends. The team helps you get from the parking area to the slope and use the lift, but you need to get there yourself or with an assistant. Sign up using the form on the society's website – you will then get a call and be offered a time.
