The Ducal Crypt of Courland in Jelgava Palace is the largest burial place of its kind in Latvia: it displays 21 metal sarcophagi and 9 wooden coffins of members of the Kettler and Biron dynasties buried between 1569 and 1791. A small room next to it shows restored burial clothes and textiles. From November to April it is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm.
