The bridge over Lake Asveja was ceremonially opened in 1934 to a design by the engineer Anatolijus Rozembliumas. In 1998 the piles of a medieval bridge that linked the castle-site island to the shore were found next to it. It is a cultural heritage site of Asveja Regional Park.
