Glider Pilot (SPL) Courses for Ages 14 and Up – Paluknis Airfield

The Vilnius Aeroclub at the Paluknis Airfield trains glider pilots (SPL), private airplane pilots, and ultralight aircraft pilots. Glider students can fly solo starting at age 14, and licenses are issued starting at age 16; The program includes at least 15 hours of flight time and 45 takeoffs in “Bocian” and “Puchacz” training gliders. Theory is taught remotely; consultations with instructors take place from January through March, and flying takes place from April through October–November, mostly on weekends starting at 10 a.m. An online information session for prospective students is held in early January each year, but you can begin training at any time.
