Description
The Biržai Flying Club, which has been in operation since 1968, is authorized to train glider pilots (SPL), light aircraft pilots (LAPL), and private pilots (PPL). The glider pilot course consists of theory—air traffic regulations, meteorology, navigation, flight theory, and radio communication—and 18 hours of practical training with an instructor; After passing the exams at the Transport Competence Agency, students receive a glider pilot license. The club also has sections for model aircraft enthusiasts, precision flying, and young glider pilots, and hosts Lithuanian championships. The cost of glider pilot training is €2,000.
