Description

The Vaškų Children’s Folklore Ensemble was founded in 2016 and features children aged 7–18: the older girls sing sutartines, while the elementary school students perform shepherd folklore—chants, songs, games, circle dances, and dances. The ensemble participated in the Song Festivals of 2018 and 2024 and has programs featuring songs about bees, as well as songs for Advent and Christmas, Shrovetide, Midsummer’s Day, St. George’s Day, and Easter. The children take part in traditional events in Vaškai and perform outside the district as well (in 2025—at the “Žiemgala” festival). The director is Renata Kaziliūnienė. For information on rehearsal times and how to join, please contact the Pasvalys Cultural Center.
